The honour of the best-dressed business in support of the city’s second Newcastle 500 has gone to a property management company in Hunter Street.
Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes said the City of Newcastle contest aimed to find the business with the most striking display and enthusiasm for the event.
“The Good Property Company was a real stand-out,” the Lord Mayor said.
“Their team went above and beyond to not only decorate but to get into the spirit of things, and you could feel the enthusiasm in their social media posts.
“Last year’s race was the biggest event the city has ever hosted, and it’s fantastic to see local businesses showing their support for the Newcastle 500 again this year.”
Entrants this year included a café bedecked in chequered flags, bottle shops and a copy shop sporting balloons and bunting, a hotel with a fantastic lobby display and an auto repair shop adorned with Newcastle 500 shirts and posters.
As winners of the contest, the company receives six three-day Newcastle 500 passes, six merchandise packs and six behind-the-scenes tours of the pit lane garages.
“I want to wish the staff a fantastic time at the Newcastle 500 and thank all the businesses who put effort into this fun competition,” Cr Nelmes said.
Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes and Cr Peta Winney-Baartz presented the prize to The Good Property Company team.
